I Watched Bachelorette

Created: August 16, 2012 1:43 pm

I did have my doubts about this movie, I won’t lie. it looks like a Bridesmaids rip-off, but with younger girls. I was wrong. No, this isn’t a masterpiece but it sure is pretty damn good.
Bachelorette follows Kirsten Dunst as she tries not to rip her hair out the night before her nest friends wedding. In come her two other BFF’s (Lizzy Caplan & Isla Fisher) who just want to party and have an amazing time.
I don’t know what I thought this movie was? I guess I thought it was just some sort of laugh-fest with gross-out chick jokes, but it’s not. There’s some serious shit going on here that is addressed and even makes you feel uncomfortable at times. But no tin a bad way.
The acting is great, Kirsten Dunst really pulled herself together in this one and she was really great. Lissy & Isla play the same characters they always play and it works well for them. I would have liked to see a little bit more with the Groom and his Groomsmen, or even some more with the bride than was given, but I understand it wasn’t their story.
I recommend it, I enjoyed it. But make sure you go in realizing that this is not actually the way it was marketed, there’s some pretty serious subject matter at hand, luckily it’s thrown in with comedy that you’ll enjoy. I checked it out on iTunes and I think you can check it out On-Demand right now
